*Kogi LG Polls: Ogori-Magongo Chairman-Elect, Osiako Thanks Ododo, Yahaya Bello, Voters*

The Chairman-Elect of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Ezekiel Sunday Osiako, has expressed profound gratitude to the people of Ogori-Magongo, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello for their support in his victory at the just-concluded Local Government polls.

Osiako, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged winner in the election conducted on Saturday, October 18, 2026, across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC).

Speaking after he was declared winner, the Chairman-Elect described his victory as a victory for the entire people of Ogori-Magongo and a call to dedicated service.

"I want to thank God Almighty, thank our leader, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who gave us the platform, thank His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing a level playing field and adequate security, and thank Hon. Goke Adabenege and all our stakeholders," Osiako said.

He also commended the electorate for turning out in large numbers to exercise their franchise in a peaceful and orderly manner.

Earlier, while casting his vote at Oshobane Ward, Osiako had described the exercise as peaceful, orderly and credible, commending KOSIEC and security agencies for their professionalism.

He pledged to run an inclusive, transparent and people-centered administration that will focus on grassroots development, security, health, education and youth empowerment in line with the developmental agenda of the Ododo administration.

"I will not disappoint the trust you have placed in me. Ogori-Magongo will feel the impact of government at the grassroots. We will carry everyone along, irrespective of political affiliation," he assured.

Reports indicated that the election in Ogori-Magongo was largely peaceful, with voters trooping out early, while joint teams of police officers and local vigilante members maintained law and order across polling units.

Osiako was formally presented as the APC Chairmanship candidate for Ogori-Magongo by former Governor Yahaya Bello during his campaign tour to the Local Government on October 4, 2026.
