David Alfred-Dogwo / August 26, 2026-This excerpt is culled from my unpublished autobiography, "The Life of David Alfred-Dogwo"-

In the quiet hours when memory walks like a restless spirit, I count the empty chairs. My former colleagues; Francis. Tom. Donatus. Hilary. Shakahulu. Jonathan. And so many others—once young men who we shared corridors, secrets, and the precarious privilege of serving powerful men—are gone. They have crossed into the land of the unseen, leaving only silence and the soft ache of absence. I am alone still alive today. Whenever their names surface, I lower my head and thank the God who still allows my lungs to draw breath. A precious life, I have learned, is richer than any fortune. I was not always this sober. In the early 1990s I was a curly-haired youth bristling with awkward energy and a tongue too quick for its own good. Mischief clung to me like a second skin. Two men alone possessed the rare patience to endure my quirks and smart-aleck remarks: my Dad, Elder Peter Adama Dogwo, and my uncle, retired DSP Michael D. Musa—affectionately called “Palee.” Both still walk among...

*MAINTAINING FRIENDSHIPS AMIDST POLITICAL DIFFERENCES*

Image
As the political season commences, it is inevitable that emotions will run high. Individuals will support different candidates, defend various political parties, and engage in heated debates over contentious issues. However, it is important for us to remain level-headed and not allow political differences to destroy valuable friendships and personal relationships. One of the most disheartening aspects of politics is the rapid deterioration of long-standing friendships simply because people hold different political affiliations or support different candidates. It is therefore crucial to draw a clear line between politics and personal relationships. Our friends, family members, neighbours, and colleagues are not under any obligation to share our political views. We can disagree respectfully and still maintain a deep sense of mutual respect. It is possible to have opposing political opinions, engage in constructive debates, and still sit together to share a meal or participate...

NIGERIA’S OIL RECOVERY: TANTITA, TOMPOLO AND THE TRIUMPH OF COLLECTIVE RESOLVE

Image
By Mr. Peter Omoh Dunia Nigeria’s recent commendation by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) for meeting its Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) crude oil production quota for three consecutive months is more than an encouraging statistic. It is compelling evidence of what our country can achieve when government, security agencies, host communities and patriotic private-sector partners work together in the national interest. For those who have closely followed the work of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), this achievement has particular significance. When Tantita was engaged in 2022 to support the protection of Nigeria’s critical oil and gas infrastructure, the industry was confronting one of the gravest crises in its history. Crude oil theft, illegal bunkering, pipeline vandalism and widespread sabotage had severely undermined production, deprived the country of badly needed revenue and inflicted enormous ...
