New Executive of Kogi Igbo Youth Congress Inaugurated, Pledges to Build on Legacies of Outgoing Leader.

The new Executive of the Kogi State Branch of the Igbo Youth Congress, IYC, has been formally inaugurated in Lokoja.  

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by notable Igbo leaders, including the Kogi State President of the Igbo Association and members of his executive, as well as presidents of Igbo Associations from South-East states in Kogi State.

In his response, the newly inaugurated Igbo Youth Leader, *Nze Emeka Chinedu*, expressed gratitude to members for finding him worthy to serve. He promised that he and members of his executive would not betray the confidence reposed in them.  

Nze Chinedu commended the outgoing IYC President, *Hon. Chief Empire Iweha*, for his remarkable achievements and pledged to build on the solid legacies he laid. He also commended the Kogi State Governor, *Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo*, for his support and promised continued synergy to move the state forward.

Earlier in a valedictory speech, the outgoing IYC Leader, *Hon. Chief Empire Iweha*, who also serves as Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Surveillance, expressed gratitude to God for a successful tenure.  

Chief Iweha emphasized the need for peace and unity among members to move the body forward. He urged members to cooperate fully with the new Executive to enable them achieve the body’s goals.  
He expressed confidence that the new Igbo youth leader would perform creditably, having served as his vice in the last executive, and urged the entire Igbo body to extend their hands of fellowship to him to enable him succeed.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President of the Kogi State Branch of the Igbo Community Association, *Chief Obika Ogechukwu*, who spoke on behalf of the President, described the event as remarkable and a sign of Igbo unity and respect for democratic tenets.  
He advised the new Executive to consolidate on the legacies of the outgoing Executive and strive to make impact in the interest of members.

Chief Ogechukwu also advised the new Executive to abide by the constitution, unite all Igbo youths, ensure peaceful co-existence and shun social vices.

The various presidents of South-East states’ Igbo Associations in Kogi State who took turns to address the gathering eulogized the wonderful achievements of Hon. Chief Empire Iweha during his tenure as IYC President.

Highlights of the event included the formal oath-taking by the new Executive and the presentation of Awards to deserving members by the outgoing President, Hon. Chief Empire Iweha.
