Sons and daughters of Agada-Ogbabede in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State have renewed their commitment to working collectively towards the growth, unity and sustainable development of the community.

The commitment was reaffirmed in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, when indigenes of the community gathered for the Mid-Year Annual General Meeting of the Agada Development Association (ADA), held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Lokoja.

The meeting brought together representatives of Agada branches across the 30 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in a demonstration of unity and shared determination to advance the interests and development of the community.

Speaking at the gathering, the National President of the Agada Development Association, Mr. Gabriel Isah Odiba, called on sons and daughters of Agada to remain united and committed to the collective advancement of the community.

Odiba urged members of the community to put aside individual interests and work together towards building a stronger and more prosperous Agada.

“Let us work together and build our community to greater heights,” he said.

The national president expressed appreciation to members of the association for the confidence, cooperation and support they had continued to extend to his administration.

He assured them that the leadership would remain committed to delivering on its responsibilities and would not betray the trust reposed in it.

Also speaking, the grand patron of the Association who also served as one time  President, Elder Francis Egbunu Ojoh, described the present leadership of the association as a model worthy of commendation.

Elder Ojoh pledged his continued support and commitment to initiatives aimed at promoting the unity, welfare and development of Agada, assuring the leadership that his experience and goodwill would remain available to the association whenever needed.

In his contribution, Mr. Omaogala Akowe, a representative of the Abuja Branch, appealed to the youths of Agada to learn from the wisdom and sacrifices of their elders and embrace a positive and responsible way of life.

He urged the younger generation to shun actions capable of jeopardising their future, stressing the importance of discipline, hard work, unity and responsible citizenship in building a prosperous community.

Similarly, Mr. Enemakwu Attah of the Anyigba Branch assured the national leadership of the branch's unwavering loyalty, cooperation and support for programmes and initiatives designed to promote the progress and development of Agada.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Agada Development Association, Lokoja Branch, Mr. Joseph Adebu, commended the national leadership for what he described as quality and purposeful leadership.

Adebu expressed confidence that with continued cooperation among branches and the collective participation of sons and daughters of Agada, the community could achieve greater milestones in development.

The meeting ended with renewed calls for unity, mutual respect, collective responsibility and sustained collaboration among the various branches of the association, with participants stressing that the future development of Agada depends largely on the willingness of its people to work together towards common goals.
