* Igbo Youth Congress in Kogi Elects New Executives, Outgoing President Hon.Chief Iweha Empire Hails Peaceful Transition*

LOKOJA — The Youth Wing of the Igbo Development Association in Kogi State, the *Igbo Youth Congress (IYC)*, has elected new officials to run the affairs of the body for the next four years.

The election, held in Lokoja, saw *Mr. Chinedu Emeka* emerge unopposed as the new President-General of the Congress.

Speaking shortly after his election, Mr. Emeka expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him. He described his emergence as "a call to service" and assured that he would not betray the trust of Igbo youths in the state.
He also commended the outgoing President, *Chief Hon. Iweha Empire*, who doubles as the Special Senior Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Surveillance, for what he called "unprecedented achievements" during his tenure. Mr. Emeka pledged to consolidate on the legacies of the outgoing administration, noting that he served under Chief Iweha as his Vice.

The outgoing President, Chief Iweha Empire, expressed confidence that the new executive would deliver on its mandate to Igbo youths in Kogi.
In his address before the election, Chief Iweha urged members to conduct themselves in a law-abiding manner and ensure a free, fair, and credible contest. He also directed that local government chapters owing dues to the association should clear their debts before being allowed to vote.

Reflecting on his four-year tenure, Chief Iweha said his administration focused on projects, scholarships, and youth empowerment initiatives.
“Anything you want to be in the future, start practicing it now. I used to dream of leading my people and today it has come to reality. You don’t need all the money in the world to help your brother or sister. Whatever you have, you can start from there,” he said.
He added that he will formally hand over on *Friday, July 31, 2026*.

Other IYC members including *Mr. Chimeze Agody* and *Mazi Enechi* lauded Chief Iweha Empire for his development strides and urged the incoming executive to sustain the momentum.

The new IYC executive is expected to focus on unity, youth empowerment, and strengthening Igbo interests in Kogi State over the next four years.
