*US-Based Igala Philanthropist,Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isa, Honoured In Lokoja For Global Humanitarian Strides*


— Advocacy For Youth Leadership in Governance, Nigeria (AYLGN) on Tuesday 9th June 2026, conferred the Proficiency Management Leadership Global Award on Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isa, CEO and Founder of Sabua Cares Foundation, USA, Chief Dr.Sabua Rekiya Isa also holds the Traditional title of “Ebule Attah Igala” USA.

The award, presented at Karomsi Hotel & Garden, Lokoja, recognized Chief Dr. Isa as the “Most Outstanding, Competent, Quintessential, Resourceful, Experienced, Renowned & Digital Philanthropist in the 21st Century.”

The award was received on her behalf by the National Coordinator of Sabua Cares Foundation, Comrade Usman Bashiru, who led some Executive members of the Foundation to the event. 
Comrade Usman Bashiru thanked AYLGN for recognizing the founder’s modest humanitarian efforts, noting that Chief Dr. Isa has been funding all her philanthropic activities alone. He appealed to organizations and well-meaning individuals to partner with the Foundation to scale impact on the poor and downtrodden, adding that the Foundation is open to collaborations that touch lives positively.

Chief Dr. Sabua Rekiya Isa joined the event via Zoom from New York, USA. An elated Dr. Isa expressed gratitude to AYLGN for the honour and dedicated the award to God, widows, downtrodden women, and youths.

Presenting the award, AYLGN National Coordinator, Comrade Ajinomoh Abiodun, Mnin, said the nomination followed a joint resolution of the organization’s Board and Executive Council after a critical assessment of Chief Dr. Isa’s career, public service, and humanitarian work. ,

In a letter dated 2nd June, 2026, signed by Comrade Ajinomoh and Secretary General Comrade Ajayi Nike Grace, AYLGN described Dr. Isa as a “trans-generational philanthropist of international standard” with “global recognition on youth development,” citing her integrity, charisma, and result-oriented leadership.

*Kogi Mourns the Loss of an Astute and Vibrant Academician, Dr. Friday Odekina Friday, Finally Goes Home, Adieu*

The funeral mass for the late Dr. Odekina Friday Odekina an astute and vibrant academician who died recently is about now  being held at the Saint Boniface Catholic Cathedral in Idah, Kogi State, beginning at 10:00 AM. A requiem mass was also held yesterday at his residence at No. 20 GRA Extension, Iyogbo-Idah, in Kogi State. Born on June 6, 1969, Dr. Odekina Friday Odekina passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 56. He is survived by his wife, children, brothers, sisters, and relatives. Today, Dr. Odekina will be laid to rest in Idah, Kogi State, bringing closure to a chapter in the lives of those who loved him. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find solace in the love and support of friends and well-wishers during this difficult time. May God grant him eternal rest. Hassan Abubàkar -Editor.
