Comrade Ovurevu who gave the warning while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja said the directive is backed by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and stakeholders in the security sector to address growing insecurity in the nation.
He explained that the initiative is also to boost the confidence of passengers on commercial motorcyclist operators, warning that erring members who refused to comply will be heavily sanctioned.
The Unionist noted that the Safety Security Jackets must be procured by members on or before the first of July 2026 noting that the jackets provide easy identification through distinctive numbers, senatorial based colours differentiation and bio-data of each members.
On availability of the products, the Chairman emphasized that all branch chairmen across the state have been given more than enough to go round; saying with the surplus in circulation, there can be no complain.
He urged passengers not to patronize motorcyclist without the jacket to assist in the aspect of compliance emphasizing that the slogan " Operation Know Your Rider must be fully supported.
While thanking Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and security agencies for their support and recognition, the unionist urged members to be law abiding and be security conscious.
