* Hon. Umar Yahaya Backs Omala Security Resolutions With ₦2 Million, Reaffirms Commitment to Lasting Peace*
_OMALA SPECIAL SECURITY MEETING: HON. UMAR YAHAYA (CONNECT) BACKS RESOLUTIONS WITH ₦2 MILLION DONATION_
On Saturday, 18th April, Hon. Umar Yahaya actively participated in the Omala Special Security Stakeholders’ Meeting, a high-level engagement that brought together security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and policymakers to chart a sustainable path toward restoring peace in the area.
In a bold demonstration of commitment, he donated the sum of Two Million Naira (₦2,000,000) to strengthen local security operations and support the implementation of resolutions reached at the meeting.
However, beyond financial support, Hon. Umar’s approach to security has consistently been defined by concrete results. Notably, the Ibado Police Station — facilitated through his intervention — has been fully completed and is now ready for commissioning, with additional operational equipment to further enhance its effectiveness.
He also recalled his earlier proactive leadership in convening a critical stakeholders’ security meeting, which produced a formal communiqué to the Kogi State Government. This engagement directly contributed to the establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bagana under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo — an achievement widely recognized as a major step in strengthening security presence in the local government.
Addressing participants, Hon. Umar acknowledged that the security challenges in Omala predate both his involvement and the current local government administration. Nevertheless, he emphasized that leadership must be measured by the willingness to confront problems head-on and deliver solutions.
“We met these challenges on ground, but we will not pass them on unresolved,” he stated firmly. “With collective effort and sincere commitment, we can and will bring an end to this crisis.”
He stressed that security must be treated as a collective responsibility, not to be left solely in the hands of government; and he called on traditional rulers to cooperate with the LG Council Chairman and work closely with security agencies to provide timely intelligence.
Hon. Umar also made a strong appeal to the youth, urging them to reject actions capable of escalating tensions and instead align with ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the land.
Reaffirming his readiness to partner with the local government authority and all relevant stakeholders, Hon. Umar Yahaya (Connect) made it clear that his focus remains on delivering practical, lasting solutions — not mere promises.
The meeting concluded with a renewed determination among stakeholders to intensify coordinated, intelligence-driven strategies aimed at restoring security, rebuilding trust, and safeguarding the future of Omala communities.
