*Easter: Kogi Deputy Governor Felicitates Kogites, Harps on Sacrifice and Love*



The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has extended warm Easter greetings to the people of the state, calling on citizens to embrace the virtues of love, sacrifice, and unity as Christians across the world mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In a message issued on Sunday in Lokoja, the Deputy Governor described Easter as a season that symbolises hope, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil, urging Kogites to reflect deeply on its significance.

“Easter reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, love, hope, and renewal. It is a time to reflect on the victory of good over evil and the promise of a brighter tomorrow,” Salifu said.

He encouraged Kogites to allow these values guide their daily conduct and relationships, stressing the need for peaceful coexistence among diverse groups in the state.

Comrade Salifu also aligned himself with the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to fostering unity and development across Kogi State.

“I join His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the entire government to urge all citizens to continue to live in peace, unity, and mutual respect, irrespective of our differences,” he added.

The Deputy Governor further called on the people to use the festive period to strengthen communal bonds and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the state.

While wishing Kogites a joyful celebration, Comrade Salifu prayed that the blessings of Easter would bring peace, happiness, and renewed strength to every home.

“May the joy and blessings of Easter fill your homes with peace, happiness, and renewed strength,” he said.

Easter, one of the most significant events in the Christian calendar, commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and is widely observed with prayers, reflection, and acts of goodwill.
