*2027 HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: A FURTHER BOOST FOR OMALA LGA AS OLAMABORO STAKEHOLDERS RESTATE THEIR SUPPORT*

A consultative meeting was held between stakeholders from Omala Local Government Area (LGA) and Olamaboro LGA in Lokoja on April 2, 2027, to discuss Omala LGA's aspiration to produce the next House of Representatives from Ankpa Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly elections.

The meeting which was led by AIG AbdulSalam Iyaji (Rtd) from Omala LGA but represnted by Hon. Arome Alfa, presented statistics showing that Omala LGA has only held the House of Representatives seat once since 1999. This, he argued, was an imbalance in the power equation of the Ankpa Federal Constituency, and appealed to Olamaboro LGA stakeholders for their support.

In response, the Olamaboro LGA stakeholders, led by Hon. Gabriel Yunusa Olofu, agreed to support Omala LGA's aspiration, requesting reciprocal support for their own National Assembly seats, including the Senate and House of Representatives.

The meeting was held in the spirit of deep understanding, mutual respect, and tolerance for each other. Both parties expressed appreciation for the constructive engagement, which they hoped would strengthen their relationship and promote the development of the Ankpa Federal Constituency.

The Olamaboro LGA stakeholders appreciated the Omala LGA delegation's presentation, which highlighted the need for equity and fairness in the sharing of political offices within the constituency. They acknowledged that Omala LGA had been marginalized in the past and pledged to support their bid for the House of Representatives seat.

The meeting was also an opportunity for both parties to discuss issues of common interest and identify areas of cooperation. The stakeholders from both LGAs expressed commitment to working together to promote the development of the Ankpa Federal Constituency and the state at large.

The consultative meeting concluded with a commitment to continue the dialogue, with both parties agreeing to meet again to further discuss the issues raised. The meeting was seen as a significant step towards building a strong alliance between Omala and Olamaboro LGAs, which is expected to promote the socio-economic development of the people.

The outcome of the meeting is seen as a boost to Omala LGA's chances of producing the next House of Representatives from Ankpa Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
