2025 Rising Star International School Graduation : Dr Samuel Atuluku calls on parents, governments to prioritize education

The Director of News and Publications in Kogi State Ministry of Information and Communications, Doctor Samuel Atuluku has called on parents and governments not to compromise the educational development of the children.

Doctor Samuel Atuluku was speaking on Saturday at the graduation ceremony of Rising Star International School, Post Flood Estate, behind Old Poly Quarters in Lokoja.

Doctor Atuluku who was chairman at the occasion, noted that quality education and general discipline of children required collective efforts, saying parents have much roles to play in shaping the attitude of the children who requires proper moulding.

The Director also described the lazy attitude of the younger generation as worrisome, stressing that there is need for attitudinal change in order to attain the greater society of the dream of all.

Doctor Atuluku expressed appreciation to Kogi State Government for allocating over thirty percent of its annual budget to education sector, saying such gesture demonstrates the Governor's political will to overhaul the educational system.

"At this point, let me emphatically say that education should be number one priority, number two priority, and number three priority, education is light, it shows the way, it is solution to all.problems and this is why it should be given optimum attention, both by the government, school managements and even the parents", Dr Atuluku remarked.

The Chairman thanked the management and staff of Rising Star International School for their commitment to qualitative education and congratulated the graduating students for being successful in their studies.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of the School, Prince Alfa Danjuma said there was no alternative to education and advised the pupils to embrace hard work to enable them excel in their future life.

Prince Alfa urged them to be good ambassadors of the School, assuring that the PTA of the school will continue to be alive to its responsibilities.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Proprietor of the School, Pastor Joshua Odoh said the event was an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating those progressing academically as well as for stock taking.

Pastor Joshua Odoh appreciated parents for their cooperation so far, but urged them to do more in order to move the school to an enviable position.

Highlight of the event was cultural display and presentation of gifts to deserving pupils among others.
