Unity has been described as an ideological principles that brothers on mutual agreement for peace and progress of any society.


A lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University  of Ilorin, Doctor Isaac Omeiza stated this in his paper presentation titled " Unity Panacea For Advancement  Of A People Or Race" during the annual celebration of Egbira Day in Ilorin by the Egbira Peoples Association ( EPA), Kwara State Chapter.

Doctor Omeiza said unity can always be identified in the pattern of thoughts, language and goals of people with common history.

He further explained that a united society will speedily achieve her goals in every sphere of lives particularly in the defence of the weak and their territory.

The Guests Speaker urged Egbira People to continue advocacy for unity, exhibit love and avoid retrogressive actions that can work against their common interest.

In his welcome address, the President of the Kwara State Chapter of EPA, Mallam  Sanni Abdulazeez Itopa, said the occasion has always created an opportunity to meet and deliberate on progressive issues in Kwara State.

He said cultural activities including; " Echori,Ozomahe, Oyinmuruwei and Ikede" are packaged in the program to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Anebira at home and in diaspora.

Mr Itopa appealed to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrahzak of Kwara State to continue to improve on the lives of non - indigenes and donate towards the construction of Ebira Town Hall.
While presenting an award of excellence and appreciation to the wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ahmed Ododo and the State Accountant General, Hajia Doctor Habibat Tijjani, the president said the gesture is in recognition of their numerous contributions to the growth of EPA across the nation.

Receiving the awards on behalf of the duo, the Head, Project Financial Management Unit Kogi State World Bank Assisted, Mallam Aliu Abdulazeez assured  of government's support to Egbira people in diaspora and urged them to always maintain cordial relationship with the host communities to achieve a common goal.

Present at the occasion were Ohinoy of Anebira Kwara State, His Royal Highness, Alhaji  Aminu Mayaki Asema, the Onuh Igala Kwara State, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abdullahi Jibril, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer, Lower River Niger Basin, Engineer George Olumoroti, Rector International Aviation College Ilorin, Captain Yakubu Okatahi.
