*KOGI STATE ASSURES OF WOMEN INCLUSIVITY IN SPORTING ACTIVITIES*

Women in the sports sector in Kogi State have been assured of total inclusivity in sporting activities. Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, disclosed this while receiving an award for Gender Equality Balancing Fifty-Fifty Representation from the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Women Commission.
The award was presented to Kogi State Government at the just-concluded Gateway Games in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in recognition of the state's equal representation of male and female athletes in the competition. A cup was presented to Kogi State, symbolizing the state's commitment to gender equality.
Hon. Anyebe explained that the award demonstrates Kogi State's commitment to being gender-sensitive under the dynamic leadership of Governor Usman Ododo. He commended the athletes for their resilience and sportsmanship during the games and congratulated those who won medals.
The Commissioner promised a better outing in future competitions and expressed appreciation to Governor Usman Ododo for his commitment to the growth and development of sporting activities in Kogi State. He also commended the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Women Commission, for recognizing Kogi State's efforts in promoting gender equality.
Elder Adejoh Akowe, leading the team of management from the Sports Council, described Governor Usman Ododo as a man of honor and integrity in developing sporting activities in the state. He commended Hon. Anyebe for his role model leadership in the Youth and Sports sector and congratulated the state government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and Sports Council on the award.
The award will undoubtedly motivate them to perform even better in future competitions. The Kogi State Government's commitment to empowering women in sports is evident, and this achievement is a testament to the state's dedication to promoting gender equality and youth empowerment.
The Commissioner reiterated that the present administration under Governor Usman Ododo is committed to the growth and development of Youth and women empowerment in the state. This award is a recognition of the state's efforts in promoting gender equality and empowering women in sports.
