*Kogi PDP Congress: Hon. Gambo Demands Immediate Swearing-In as Chairman*

Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo has expressed his disappointment and frustration over the Kogi State High Court's ruling, which called for the cancellation of the August 31st, 2024, PDP Congress. Instead of cancellation, Hon. Gambo believes he should have been declared the winner, having scored the highest votes in the election. According to him, the congress was free and fair, meeting all requirements for due process, fairness, and justice.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Election and Political Party Monitoring Department observed the congress and reported that it was conducted in accordance with the party's guidelines. Hon. Gambo pointed out that Enemona Anyebe, one of the contestants, was barred from participating in the congress by a court order, which was not vacated or set aside.

Hon. Gambo lamented that despite scoring the highest votes, he has been denied justice. He has appealed the High Court ruling and successfully transmitted the record to the Appeal Court. He urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP and the PDP Governor's Forum to swear him in immediately as the duly elected Chairman of Kogi PDP.

According to Hon. Gambo, the congress was contested by several candidates, including himself, Capt. Agada Joe, Ogu Ina David, and Amego Eleojo. However, Enemona Anyebe was not a participant due to the court order. A High Court on February 18, 2025, affirmed the case of contempt against Enemona and ordered his arrest.

Hon. Gambo emphasized that justice delayed is justice denied and called on the NWC of PDP to review the report and results of the congress and swear him in immediately. He expressed frustration over the delay, stating that he is the authentic Kogi State PDP Chairman and should be inaugurated without further delay.

Hon. Gambo concluded by reiterating that Enemona Anyebe did not contest the election and has not challenged any of the court orders or judgments, and therefore, he should be sworn in as the Chairman of Kogi PDP without further ado.
