*"Okura State Creation: A Dream Taking Shape, Thanks to Rep. Halims' Efforts"*

Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Ankpa Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has reiterated his commitment to the creation of Okura State from the present Kogi State. This move, he believes, will bring about development, increase resources, and solve some of the outcry of the people.¹

Halims emphasized that the creation of Okura State has been a long-standing demand of the people, spanning over two decades. He acknowledged that the people are not marginalized, but rather, they want to have a state of their own to facilitate further development.

As a member of the House of Representatives and the Constitutional Review Committee, Halims has taken a significant step towards realizing the dream of Okura State. He recently presented a proposal for the creation of Okura State on the floor of the House, marking a major milestone in the quest for statehood.²

The proposed Okura State will comprise nine local government areas, including Ankpa, Bassa, Dekina, Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Odolu, Ofu, Olamaboro, and Omala. Halims has urged the people to cooperate and work together to ensure the realization of Okura State.

Halims is optimistic about the creation of Okura State, citing its rich mineral resources, vast lands for farming, and qualified human resources. He believes that the creation of Okura State will not only bring development to the people but also increase the number of federal constituencies in the state.

With Halims' efforts, the creation of Okura State is slowly taking shape. His dedication to the cause has been unwavering, and his constituents are hopeful that their dream of a new state will soon become a reality.
