*"Nigeria Forest Security Service Reiterates Commitment to Rooting Out Crimes in Kogi State"*


Kogi State command of the Nigeria Forest Security service [NFSS], has reiterated its commitment to collaborate with the established security architectures in the state to clamp down all forms of security threats in the state.

Commander Paul Monday of the state command, gave the assurance while fielding questions from newsmen on the sideline of the activities of the command in his office, Lokoja on Wednesday.

According to him, the present administration under the watch of the Chief servant and the state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has showered capacity in Leadership in securing lives and property of citizenry, hence the readiness of the command to provide all the necessary support to all conventional security bodies to effectively discharge their duties as spelt out by the constitution.

Commander Paul Monday explained that his men are deployed all over the twenty-one local government areas to man forests, arrest and expose bad elements, and hand them over to the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps for prosecution.

He showered encomiums on the state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his administration's humongous investment in the security sector, which has facilitated in assuaging crimes and criminalities in the state. He asserted that the appointments of some seasoned security experts, including Commodore Jerry Omodara (retd) as Special Adviser on Security Matters, and Air Vice Marshal Umar Omeiza (retd) as Kogi State Executive Chairman, Security Trust Fund, are eloquent testimony of his preparedness to root out crime in the state.

Commander Paul Monday further stressed that when the bill establishing the Organisation is assented to by the President and Commander-in-Chief, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it will give legitimacy to the ranks and files to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently.

"On behalf of the Kogi State Command, I assure our unfettered readiness to collaborate with all existing security apparatus to rid the state of any form of criminalities and make it a safe haven for socio-economic progress and development to thrive," Commander Paul Monday asserted.
