*Gov. Ododo Set to Receive Torch of Unity in Lokoja on Saturday*,

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, will receive the Torch of Unity in Lokoja, the state capital, on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The Torch of Unity is a symbol of national unity that marks the beginning of the National Sports Festival Programme.

The Torch of Unity was presented and flagged off by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on March 25, 2025. It is expected to travel across all 36 states of the federation, promoting unity and sportsmanship among Nigerians.

According to the Director of Sports, Kogi State Sports Council, Mr. Akowe Sule Adejoh, the team of National Sports Commission officials parading the Torch will be joined by the staff of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sports Council, and other sports enthusiasts in the state.

The event is expected to draw significant attention from stakeholders, and all are urged to participate actively and attend promptly. This ceremony is a significant moment for Kogi State, as it promotes national unity and celebrates the country's rich sporting culture.
