*FG Declares March 31 and April 1 Public Holidays for Eid-el-Fitr Celebration*



The Federal Government has announced that Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, will be public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.¹ This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim Ummah on completing the Ramadan fast and urged them to embody virtues like self-discipline, compassion, and generosity. He emphasized the importance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in building a harmonious society [1).

The Minister also called on Nigerians to pray for peace, stability, and prosperity during this festive period. He expressed hope that Eid-el-Fitr would inspire unity and cooperation across religious and ethnic lines.
