Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission ,KERC, Receives Royal Visit



Engr. Ibrahim S. Abdwaaris, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer,  of the newly established Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission,has received the Ohi of Eganyi and Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Traditional Council, Alhaji Isa Musa Achuja, on a courtesy visit to his office in Lokoja.

The royal father's visit is seen as a significant endorsement of the commission's establishment, which was made possible by the vision of the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

 Engr. Abdwaaris while receiving the Traditional ruler acknowledged the governor's efforts, stating that the commission's creation marked a new era in the state's electricity sector.

Engr. Abdwaaris appreciated the royal father's visit and noted the significance of the commission's establishment. 

He emphasized the need for support to ensure the commission's success and reiterated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's commitment to improving electricity supply and promoting economic growth in Kogi State.

According to Engr. Abdwaaris, the commission's primary objectives include regulating the electricity sector in Kogi State, ensuring a stable and efficient supply of electricity, and promoting economic growth and development. 

The KERC Boss emphasized that the commission would work tirelessly to create an enabling environment for investors, generators, and distributors of electricity, thereby driving economic success and improving the quality of life for residents. 

He noted that the commission would establish a complaint resolution mechanism to address consumer grievances and ensure that their concerns are heard and addressed promptly.

Earlier,Alhaji Isa Musa 
 Achuja, the Ohi of Eganyi and Chairman of the Ajaokuta Local Government Traditional Council, congratulated Engr. Abdwaaris on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the commission to success.

The Ohi also expressed gratitude to the Governor for recognizing competence through the appointment of Engr. Ibrahim .s Abdwaaris, describing the commission as a new asset that should be supported by all to grow.
