Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Council Flags Off And Distribute Palliatives





The Executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Council, Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas Atabor, officially flag-off and distributed palliatives provided by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The palliatives, sent under the Governor’s directive through the Director of Local Government (DLG), Comrade Ademu Sani, were received by the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Adama Zekeri.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Hon. Adama Zekeri commended Governor Ododo's leadership, particularly his proactive efforts in ameliorating the hardships faced by the less privileged during the Yuletide season. 

He noted that the effective governance witnessed under Governor Ododo has strengthened the position of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the leading political party in the Local Government.


Comrade Ademu Sani outlined the distribution procedure as instructed by the Governor, ensuring the inclusion of political wards, widows, persons with disabilities, and various associations amongst others.

The event witnessed the presence of key stakeholders, with committees formed for each political ward under the supervision of the Ward Councillors to guarantee equitable distribution of the palliatives.


In his remarks, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Muhammed Edicha, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo and reaffirmed the council's dedication to upholding the positive image of the APC.
