The people of Ere Kingdom in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State have been urged to rally behind the newly enthroned Elere, His Royal Highness Oba Richard Olusegun, to ensure his success on the ancestral throne.

Oba Sunday Onilede, the Oba of Oke Aga Community in Odo Ere, made this appeal in a telephone conversation with our reporter in Lokoja. As a second-class Oba and Acting Chairman of Ere Traditional Council, Oba Onilede played a pivotal role in facilitating the new king's ascension to the throne.

According to Oba Onilede, the selection process was conducted in accordance with traditional norms, resulting in widespread acceptance among the clans that comprise Ere Kingdom. He described Oba Richard Olusegun as a perfect gentleman with in-depth knowledge of Ere Kingdom's history and traditions.

Oba Onilede expressed optimism about the new king's reign, citing his love for the people and listening ability as essential qualities for effective leadership. He emphasized the importance of collective support from Ere's sons and daughters for the successful coronation of Oba Richard Olusegun, scheduled for December 27, 2024.
