_Anyigba Community holds End-of-Year Celebration, Hails Governor Ododo's Road Project_

The Anyigba Development Association, Lokoja Branch, held its annual end-of-year get-together on November 23, 2024, at the popular Kasuwa Hotel in Lokoja. The event was chaired by the association's patron, Alh. Isah Usman Ichaba, and was attended by past chairmen, Iyes, and other dignitaries.

In his opening remarks, Alh. Ichaba thanked God for sparing their lives to witness the end of 2024. He also expressed his felicitations to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Usman Ododo, for appointing two of their illustrious daughters and sons, Hajia Rabiat Baby Okute and Alh. Suleiman Ibrahim, to key positions in his administration.

Alh. Ichaba praised Governor Ododo for his leadership qualities and prayed for his continued guidance in handling the affairs of the state. He also thanked HRH, the Ogohi/Onu Anyigba, Alh. Abuh Shaibu Okolo, for his sterling leadership and prayed for more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the community.

The patron reminded members of the association's founding fathers' commitment to the development of Anyigba and enjoined the current executive committee, led by Comrade Faruna Danladi Francis, to continue improving in the handling of the association's affairs.

In response, the president of the association thanked Alh. Ichaba for his humility and contributions to the association's successes. The president also expressed the association's gratitude to Governor Ododo for the award and flag-off of the rehabilitation of the four-kilometer Anyigba-Agala-Ateh road.

The president noted that Governor Ododo's gesture would be remembered for generations to come, and that his name is already written in gold for remembering the Anyigba community, which is the food basket of Kogi State.

The event was attended by many dignitaries, including past and present government officials, traditional rulers, and business leaders. The occasion was marked with music, dance, and speeches, and was a celebration of the association's achievements and the community's progress.

As the event came to a close, the chairman of the end-of-year get-together committee, Mr. Gabriel Obaje, thanked members for their cooperation and support. He prayed that God would spare their lives to witness the 2025 episode, which promises greater exploits.
