*Kogi State Handball Stakeholders Demand Leadership Reform*

Handball enthusiasts in Kogi State are pushing for a comprehensive overhaul of the state's Handball Association to revive the sport's former glory. Despite a rich history of national successes, including underage tournament wins and international representation, participation and development have declined.

The stakeholders attribute this decline to leadership challenges, citing financial constraints, sponsorship withdrawal, and personal conflicts under Chairman Jibrin Saidu's tenure. Confluence Stars, the premier league team, has struggled since 2020, while Confluence Queens has disbanded.

*A Glorious Past*

Kogi State's handball history is marked by notable achievements, including:

- Winning national underage tournaments in the 1990s
- Representing Nigeria in international competitions

*Current Challenges*

However, recent years have seen a decline in:

- Participation
- Development initiatives
- Team cohesion and player morale

*Call for Change*

Stakeholders demand the dissolution of the current board, citing ineffective leadership and lack of commitment to handball development. They propose forming a new leadership structure to revitalize the sport.

*Leading the Charge*

Mark Ogah, a handball enthusiast and stakeholder, has vowed to restore Kogi State's handball prominence. With his extensive experience and passion for the sport, Ogah is confident that the state's handball team will once again become champions.
