Kogi State Government has commenced the installation of solar powered Street light along Zone Eight round about to GYB junction, Lokoja.



The Director Electrical, Ministry of Works Lokoja, Engineer Abbas Ibrahim stated this while speaking with news men in Lokoja.

Engineer Abbas said the installation of solar powered Street light is to compliment the newly constructed road by providing light for vehicular movement and to reduce criminal activities.

Engineer Abbas said the job was given to reputable company emphasising that the excavation of the trenches has began and will be followed by casting of the base before final installations.

The Director commended the Commissioner for works , Engineer Mohammed Yusuf for facilitating the project without delay saying logistics for good supervision has also been arranged by him.

He urged the public to always protect public facilities  against vandals for optimal performance.
