*Alleged Attempt by Boyloaf, Gbaboyor to Manipulate Amnesty Program*
A statement released on Thursday has shed light on an alleged attempt by former Niger Delta militant Ebokabowei Victor-Ben, alias Boyloaf, and his accomplice Jude Gbaboyor to manipulate the Presidential Amnesty Program.
According to sources, Gbaboyor, allegedly acting under Boyloaf's instructions, was dissatisfied with the new order in the Amnesty Program initiated by Coordinator Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro.
The statement claims that Boyloaf and his allies launched a campaign of calumny after failing to secure approval from Presidential aides. Following Dr. Otuaro's appointment, emissaries approached High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, alias Tompolo, with demands aimed at manipulating the Amnesty Program.
Tompolo, a pipeline security surveillance expert, refused to comply, triggering a subtle and confrontational campaign by Boyloaf, Gbaboyor, and their cohorts against Dr. Otuaro's management and targeting Tompolo.
The demands included Gbaboyor's reinstatement at the Amnesty office, previously terminated due to misconduct, and unfettered, unpopular decisions and shady deals.
Dr. Otuaro prioritized the Niger Delta's welfare and advancement over Boyloaf and Gbaboyor's parochial interests, blocking channels of free money in the agency.
Boyloaf and Gbaboyor's actions were reportedly driven by frustration over the loss of their "business as usual" activities and shady deals that thrived under previous administrations.
Gbaboyor's WhatsApp message to Dr. Otuaro expressed frustration, threatening to write an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging exclusion of APC chieftains from Amnesty benefits.
Sources close to the matter confirmed that Tompolo rejected Boyloaf and Gbaboyor's demands, prioritizing the Niger Delta's overall interest and well-being.
The alleged attempt to manipulate the Amnesty Program has sparked concerns about the ongoing efforts to maintain stability in the Niger Delta region.
