*Kogi State Deputy Governor Assures Citizens of People-Centered Governance*

Lokoja, Kogi State - Following the Supreme Court's affirmation of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's election victory, Deputy Governor Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo has reiterated the administration's commitment to prioritizing citizens' welfare and infrastructural development.

Speaking after a victory rally, Elder Oyibo emphasized that the Supreme Court's judgment has ended distractions, allowing the governor to focus on delivering dividends of democracy. He assured that the administration will:

- Enhance infrastructure development
- Provide basic amenities
- Carry everyone along in governance
- Ensure purposeful leadership

Elder Oyibo congratulated Governor Ododo and thanked the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday A. Anyebe, for mobilizing the celebration rally. He appreciated the administration's readiness to empower youth activities.

Commissioner Anyebe congratulated the governor and deputy governor, attributing the victory rally's success to the administration's good work. He urged citizens, especially youths, to continue supporting the government.

The rally, attended by thousands, including APC supporters, youths, women leaders, and followers, demonstrated the administration's popularity.

*Kogi Mourns the Loss of an Astute and Vibrant Academician, Dr. Friday Odekina Friday, Finally Goes Home, Adieu*

The funeral mass for the late Dr. Odekina Friday Odekina an astute and vibrant academician who died recently is about now  being held at the Saint Boniface Catholic Cathedral in Idah, Kogi State, beginning at 10:00 AM. A requiem mass was also held yesterday at his residence at No. 20 GRA Extension, Iyogbo-Idah, in Kogi State. Born on June 6, 1969, Dr. Odekina Friday Odekina passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 56. He is survived by his wife, children, brothers, sisters, and relatives. Today, Dr. Odekina will be laid to rest in Idah, Kogi State, bringing closure to a chapter in the lives of those who loved him. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find solace in the love and support of friends and well-wishers during this difficult time. May God grant him eternal rest. Hassan Abubàkar -Editor.
