*"MTN's Issues with Kogi State Government: A Matter of Non-Compliance"*



Hon. Dr. Issa Tawfiq, Director General of Kogi State Utility, Infrastructure Management and Compliance Agency, has shed light on the issues surrounding MTN's operations in Kogi State. According to him, MTN has been non-compliant with the agency's regulations, leading to conflicts between the state government and the telecommunication company.

Dr. Tawfiq explained that MTN has refused to comply with the agency's directives, despite numerous invitations and discussions. He stated that other telecommunication companies, such as GLO, have been cooperative and compliant with the agency's regulations.

The Director General emphasized that the agency is committed to enforcing the law and ensuring that all telecommunication companies operating in the state comply with the regulations. He urged MTN to come forward and discuss their issues with the agency, stating that the door is open for dialogue.

Dr. Tawfiq also highlighted his experience as a security expert and administrator, having served as the chairman of Ijumu Local Government and Director General of the Kogi Project Monitoring Agency. He expressed confidence in the agency's ability to manage the situation and ensure that all telecommunication companies operate within the bounds of the law.

Dr. Tawfiq also touched on the importance of telecommunication in modern society, particularly in areas such as information dissemination, banking, and security. He emphasized that the agency is committed to finding solutions that benefit the people of Kogi State.

The Director General concluded by reiterating the agency's commitment to its mandate and its determination to ensure that all telecommunication companies operating in Kogi State comply with the regulations. He expressed optimism that a resolution would be reached with MTN, and that the agency would continue to work towards providing effective services to the people of Kogi State.
