"Professor Abubakar Mohammed: Environment Not a Barrier to Child Success"




Muna International Comprehensive Academic School in Lokoja celebrated its third anniversary and graduation/prize-giving day, featuring a keynote address by Professor Abubakar Mohammed of Federal University Lokoja. He emphasized that environment is not a limiting factor to a child's success, stressing the importance of personal determination and parental support.

The ceremony showcased the school's achievements, with graduands, students, and pupils presenting cultural performances. Prizes were awarded to top-performing students, and goodwill messages were delivered by dignitaries.

The school's proprietress, Hajiya Meimuna Sanusi, urged graduands to be excellent ambassadors, displaying good morals, hard work, and discipline. She emphasized the need for commitment and utilizing God-given talents to excel in a competitive environment.

Professor Mohammed's lead paper, "Motivating Students as an Essential Factor to Foster Academic Excellence," highlighted parents' crucial role in proper upbringing, citing that children derive 50-60% of natural intelligence from their mothers. He emphasized that personal determination leads to individual attainment, and acquisition of western knowledge is necessary to achieve set goals.

The professor commended the school's founder for imparting knowledge and urged wealthy individuals to emulate her example, redirecting resources to benefit the commoners. The school's director, Ahmed Kabir Mohammed, emphasized the importance of affordable and quality education, encouraging parents to enroll their wards.
